Hemitragus jemlahicus tar himalajski

Hemitragus jemlahicus - duże zwierzę z rodziny krętorogich. Zamieszkuje stadnie (zwykle poniżej 50 sztuk) himalajskie łąki i pastwiska oraz tereny leśne powyżej 3000 m n.p.m. Tary wyróżniają się długim i gęstym futrem - kolor od rudego po brunatne, są nieco większe od nachurów. Długość tułowia do 170 cm, wysokość w kłębie do 100 cm, waga samców do 100 kg, samice są drobniejsze. Ruja zimą, po około siedmiomiesięcznej ciąży w miocie rodzi się 1 lub 2 młode. Spotykany na terenach Annapurna C.A., Sagarmatha N.P. oraz w rejonie Pir Panjal.
